Bullets and Bandaids uses storytelling and art to bridge the divide between veterans and civilians. We do this by focusing on the value of the individual human experience..
Every piece you see, every story, every work of art, every voice you hear is the result of a collaboration between a veteran (or someone close to), a writer, and an artist. These aren’t surface-level narratives. They are honest, complicated, and deeply human
With your support, we are able to:
• Sit down with veterans and document their stories in their own words—stories that might otherwise never be told
• Collaborate with professional writers and artists to transform those experiences into powerful, accessible works
• Produce immersive exhibitions and published volumes that have already reached tens of thousands of viewers
• Create voiceovers and digital access points so these stories remain available long after someone leaves the gallery
War is often discussed in abstraction—through politics, statistics, or ideology. Bullets and Bandaids creates space for a different kind of engagement: one rooted in attention, witnessing, and lived experience.
The project offers an opportunity to listen, reflect, and remain present with stories that are too often simplified or ignored. By the act of experiencing the work, everyone who invests in Bullets and Bandaids takes an active role in dialogue that is desperately needed.
Supporting this work means supporting that kind of space and that kind of dialogue.
This isn’t theoretical impact. It’s already happening. What’s more, it’s growing.
Every donation directly fuels the creation of new stories and ensures that existing ones continue to reach a wider audience. If what we do moves you, know that your support fuels us.
While recurring donations provide the stability we need to plan ahead and grow sustainably, every single contribution, no matter the size, directly supports the creation and sharing of these stories.
This work doesn’t exist without people who believe in it. This dialogue won’t exist without you.
Consider this your invitation to the movement.
Our sponsors and major donors help us provide a platform for veterans and civilians of all backgrounds to celebrate their common humanity. We are constantly seeking organizations willing to partner with us and co-create opportunities for mutual success.
Our mission is to heal social barriers separating veterans and civilians by celebrating our common humanity through storytelling and art.
The traveling art and storytelling exhibition, features collaborations between veterans and civilian writers and artists. We want to highlight the depth and breadth of what it is to be human through the raw lens of military experiences and thereby underscore both the support and responsibility that goes with recognizing we’re all in this together.
